Destrozo!

Peru has never really been the country known for amazing punk records, but when I heard Narcosis' 1985 cassette Primera Dosis (First Dose), I was instantly strung out on their lo-fi presentation (no bass), infectious songs and the absolutely endearing voice of singer "Wicho" GarcĂa. Oh, and perhaps the best and only Spanish language cover of "I Wanna Be Your Dog" Punk!

  1. Thanks for this one! The Ataque Frontal EP (recently reished on Burrito) is good & messy too.

  10. I haven't listened to this yet, but Narcosis have a few tracks on tape comps, including the Syfillis nr 2 comp (w/the great Demilitarize).

I believe there is a Mexican band that covers "I wanna be your dog" in Spanish, if I can find it I'll upload it.

  11. The sad part here is that vocalist Wicho Garcia would go onto sing for a band called Mar de copas, which is one of the most succesful pop acts from Peru. They claim to have substance, but after listening to them more than a few times and accidentally checking them out live a few years ago I'll bet my ass they have none whatsoever...
