Stone Bunny

Look at Bob, wow. Stone Bunny was the brief pseudonym for Pentagram sometime in the early 70's. These recordings are a muddy, glitchy, and deeply flawed dub-from-a-dub-from-a-dub type affair, but the die-hard Penta-nerds won't care. This features "Please Don't Forget Me" which was covered by Witchcraft on their debut. Gotta give it up for Hearse friend, Solana Diaz, for digging up that awesome pic. Show 'em how!

  3. To be exact Pentagram were never called Stone Bunny.
The story goes like this: "Bobby Liebling joined Washington DC area band, SPACE MEAT, who then changed their name to STONE BUNNY. Aside from Liebling, the line-up featured John Jennings (guitar),
Greg Mayne (bass) and Geof O'Keefe (drums), all of whom later turned up in PENTAGRAM. STONE BUNNY only stayed together for a few months because Liebling's harder vocal style wasn't right for Jennings'
often melodic material, and they parted ways with the Jennings/Mayne/O'Keefe trio reverting back to the moniker SPACE MEAT before splitting up a brief time later."
This info is taken from the Official Relapse Records Band Page. And now after my nerdish rant I'm going to download this. Thanks for sharing!

  15. thanks so much for this.. i've been looking for the original version of "please don't forget me" for over a year now..
i just read an interview where bobby remarked that the reel to reel ran out on the last 5 seconds of the song. he also mentioned that he was 16 when he wrote it.
