Another essential early Swedish Death demo. Grotesque were from Gothenburg and weren't content with the cro-magnon bludgeon of the Stockholm kids, Grotesque wanted to create their own brand of brutal, more precise and thrashing. I want to keep this concise so I won't bother with going into great deal about how influential the various members of Grotesque went on to be. Just get to listening.
grotesque was the shit. i've heard a bit of their stuff but am definitely DL-ing this. the swedish black/death is where it's at. thanks as always.

ReplyDeleteIt could be noted that they put out a split with a band called At the Gates among other things.
ReplyDeleteWell, Grotesque had a 12" EP out, then split up, then At the Gates made a demo which became another 12" EP, which was later compiled with the Grotesque EP & some other tracks by the Dolores label. And it was all killer.
