Catatonics

The Catatonics were probably the best thing about Flipside's Vinyl Fanzine 2, and yet this 1984 EP remains relatively unknown. These speed-obsessed punks called Syracuse home but don't let that fill your head with images of privileged, thick-necked, sweatshirt-clad mosh monkey assholes, The Catatonics were the real deal, hardcore when that meant something.

    Damn, the list is long ( even if it includes some very strange portions of pop) of who was inspired by Miller and the boys. I have to say that my taste lately has been gravitating towards real hard shit, and this record is such a good one for it. What ever happened to that spirit in music? I dunno. I think it's still there, just a little disguised in monetary means.

    believe it or not, there was a punk scene in Syracuse long before Earth Crisis ... I saw the Catatonics farewell show

    How come Syracuse doesn't get called a Bullshit Town? I too, saw this pre-EC CNY HC band in the day.
