Spending Loud Night

More Confuse for the dirty desperate earholes of my noise-obsessed friends out there. The Spending Loud Night 7" contains Confuse's earliest recordings from 1983 but wasn't released until 1987. If you've been riding the Hearse for a while now you know as much as anyone about Confuse and you also know you need this essential piece of Japanoisecore history.

  1. Pure aural bliss. One of the most important and perfectly realized things ever put to wax.

  3. The first 3 songs sound quite identical to the Indignation tape (later LP), but with added distortion and effects, the intro to SPL is song 'The End' cut short. SPL sound like a demo or perhaps even live recording, I mean listen to the vocal, either way the song sounds like it has also been remastered and have added dubs or extra effects. The timing of this being released, following a year or so of little activity suggests that the idea of adding extra dubs or distortion etc is plausible as that later mini-album Stupid Life (recorded '89) was much more experimental than previously.

But why but why the voiceover between "The End" and the start of "Spending a loud night"?

Still though one of my favourite records easily.

I'd love to read a indepth retrospective interview with the members of the band...

  4. well, slobodan. this is how the originsl ep just is. recorded in 1983, this didnt come out until 1987. all tape cuts/edits are how the ep just are. AND its 1000% more noisy & abrasive than the original tape version. i have originals of both. this is just how it is. no complaints!!
