Okay so that cover doesn't exactly scream hatred or even remotely look like anything appealing, but don't let that stop you from having this little yellow record from 1985 kick your dick into the dirt. Pure Hate were from Holland and released only this one EP, titled We've Got The Right To Remain Silent, But..., during their brief run. Just hardcore from back when that meant something other than roided-out suburban sweatshirt jocks playing tough guy urban gangstas for Victory Records. When did it get away from us?
Thanks for posting this one.
ReplyDeleteIf I am not mistaken there is a label that is exclusively re-releasing old European/Dutch HC punk records. Not sure whether they did a re-release of the Pure Hate EP, but I have seen re-releases of Winterwijks Chaos Front, Pandemonium, Disgust and No Pigs.
Until that whole "thrash" hype in the 2000s, you could find a lot of those records for cheap in the Netherlands, if you were patient enough to track them down. In 1999 I bought a stack of classic records like 7"s from Disgust, Gepopel, and Agent Orange, and the Babylon bleibt Fahren comp from a squatter, each for less than 10$.
Do you have any BGK think they were from Netherlands. Not really hardcore but some thrashy punk.
ReplyDeleteIt probably got away from you the same way it got away from every other 'scene': the moment you stopped looking at the music and started looking at yourselves and saying what you are and most definitely are not.
ReplyDeleteFrom the description alone, I'll be grabbing this one once I get back from work.
ReplyDeleteexactly what i needed to hear after work. thanks as always dude.
