Fall Into Darkness

I attend every year and this will be no exception. Maybe you didn't know, but I have recently joined on as drummer of my absolute favorite Bay Area band, Worm Ouroboros. We will be performing at Fall Into Darkness' Saturday extravaganza alongside some of the greatest bands in the USA, Krallice (some of my favorite people in the universe), Deadsea (my favorite people in the universe who aren't Krallice), and Fell Voices (who are great folks as well.) On Friday (the night before) Worm Ouroboros will be playing a very intimate (read poorly attended) show at The Gup in Eugene (690 Van Buren) along with Rye Wolves and Vivimancer. If you live anywhere in the Pacific Northwest I urge you to come to these shows, and bring me music, fancy beers, glaucoma medicine, comic books, or just a smiling face and a kind word. Cosmic Hearse will resume it's regularly scheduled programming monday or tuesday. See you soon.

  1. I won't be there, since I'm something like 5,000 miles away. But this seemed like a good opportunity to say hey, thanks for dropping some stuff I would never have heard otherwise - the 70s Zambian rock has been doing it for me for a couple of weeks now. Nice to know there are metal nuggets out there with a taste for more than rifferama action. Love to be able to point you in the direction of stuff you might not know but all I can think of right now is OLD's Lo Flux Tube, which you're bound to have heard, and Tekton Motor Corporation, Slovenian's signed to Peaceviulle's sister label Dreamtime. Check it out if you like your racing themed industrial oddballness.

  2. Wish I was in the Pacific Northwest, for this weekend at least. But I'm in NY instead. Anyway, thanks for the great blog.

  3. "...glaucoma medicine..."

Haha. I'd happily bring you some fancy beers if I was anywhere near the Pacific Northwest, but like the above commenter, I'm in stinking NY.

I know friends who are going, so I'll have them bring you some fancy beers (and maybe some of that good ole glaucoma meds).

    Have fun Aesop.

  4. Sweet gig. Only know Fell Voices and Krallice though. But WIZARD RIFLE is an AMAZING band name - I really hope that's one name, and not two bands. The graphic design isn't very clear on that. You should upload some gritty old rehearsal tape with WORM OUROBOUROS. A band with that name should be heard in the raw.

  5. I won't be there this weekend, unfortunately (seriously bummed about missing Krallice's first Pacific NW show). However I will be at both Agalloch's Portland and Seattle shows, and I will be there for the Neurosis/Ludicra show on NYE.

Have fun at the festival, and see you soon.

  9. Aesop,
Have you heard these guys? It may not appeal to you. Or you may love it. I do.

Thanks, as always, for the blog. Not going to the festival, as I live on the incorrect side of the country.

  10. I wish I could be there. It's really hard to be a metalhead in central Kansas.

  12. Would love to be there, but I'm a year shy of being able to legally attend Fall Into Darkness. Next year, hopefully.

  13. I've just discovered the site via the the Sludge Swamp...great stuff...I'll be spending a lot of time here...any chance of reviving the links for ZZ Top's FANDANGO!/TRES HOMBRES/FIRST ALBUM?...I've got the vinyls from way back but to get them onto cd would be great in these OVER-WORKED/NO-TIME-TO -LIVE times!...this fine Saturday morning after finishing my shift I'm spinning Funkadelic's COSMIC SLOP...ALL THE BEST,Monty.
