Finally all those sugary, ooey gooey, bubble gum goopy, glam hits from Chicory Tip, a band you have never heard of, compiled into one easy to manage CD. The party starts now.
Best fucking thing I've heard in weeks. I think I saw a brief mention of these guys in the "Bubblegum Music Is The Naked Truth" book (maybe?), and promptly forgot the name. Thanks for this.
Indica came out during the 70s in Holland. Have about 3 Rizlas before listening Captain & Tennile, although love will keep us together was fun on 8-track with Bob Welch and the Allman Brothers in mom & pops collection.
What is this I don't even...
ReplyDeleteI'm only downloading this because I trust you. God only knows what I'm about to hear.

ReplyDeleteSo Chicory Tip aren't very well known over there? Does that mean you've been spared hearing 'Son of My Father' about a million times? You lucky sods.
ReplyDeleteHey you guys, it's Chicory Tip!
ReplyDeleteThis past August I was spinning their cover of Giorgio Moroder's "Son of My Father" at least a couple times a day.
ReplyDeleteThanks for this, and for all the good music.
Just by the outfits and facepaint it is worth a download. The 70s wins again.
ReplyDeleteAmericans are generally unaware of the Chicory Tip. I guess maybe you all have never had to endure Captain and Tenille?
ReplyDeletei would take captain and tenille over having to hear that godawful "youre still the one, were still havin fun,and youre still the one" song
ReplyDeleteWhy does the guy on the far right have no makeup on? He looks like he is being interviewed by the news.
ReplyDeleteHere's a Britglam band that didn't quite make it:

Stompin' stuff.
Check out some of their videos on Youtube - the singer had the ultimate double/triple layer feather haircut...LOL

ReplyDeleteHoly crap! I can't get this stuff out of my head, and now, it's competing with the French synthwave posted in recent weeks.
ReplyDeletethis is pretty terrific. I'm loving the cover of "lodi" too.
ReplyDeleteI hate this.
