R.I.P. Peter "Sleazy" Christopherson

The genius partly responsible for Throbbing Gristle, COIL, and some of the greatest album covers of all time has left the earth. He will be missed.

  1. Very much so. I would have been seeing Throbbing Gristle in just over a week's time too.

  2. Stunned. And sad. What an inspiration, that will surely not diminish.

  10. Like Claypool I too was looking forward to seeing Sleazy next week with X-TG.

This really is terrible news. I hope that there is an afterlife, and COIL are now back together...

  11. sucks. i cried when i heard this. tg has been my favorite band since i discovered them when i was 15. they changed how and what i thought about music FOREVER. i was eternally blessed to be able to finally see them live in los angeles last year. and of course there was coil, (early) psychic tv -- and all those hipgnosis covers. he has left us too soon, and he will be missed.

  13. I saw Throbbing Gristle last year at Logan Square Auditorium. Sleazy had that same robe on while TG were performing. What's really weird is that Cosey Fanney Tutti's Vice interview just came out earlier this month and she did mention a great deal about Sleazy. RIP.

  14. Sad news indeed, Sleazy will be missed for sure, however, he's with Jhonn now, which is really neat, if you think about it.
