Have you peeped this new trend the hip kids are calling "Witch House?" I don't know, sounds like Cold Wave or a more evil version of that Retro-Electro muck that all the most attention-seeking Williamsburgers were ear-snorting a few years back. Well, passing trend or not, I have heard a few interesting releases from these types, mainly the work of SALEM, Mater Suspiria Vison, White Ring, and oOoOO, so I figured a great means to get you in the door would be to share this mesmerizing split that pits White Ring against oOoOO.
Wow, didn't expect to see this here. Great call. Other than MSV this release is really the start and end of Witch House (give o take a couple of others). Pretty much all you need and essential for anyone.
ReplyDeleteEssential split, as said, but you should also check out Modern Witch, for something leaning more towards cold wave.
ReplyDeleteI like some of this stuff. I'll definitely check it out. Thanks!
ReplyDeletebetween salem and ooooOOOooo i'm already done with it. cold wave dub. ooohhhh its like so psychy
ReplyDeleteI'm digging it.
ReplyDeleteI've been listening to stuff like this for a while now. Thanks a bunch.
ReplyDeleteYUCK
ReplyDeletefuck the haters, shit is tight
ReplyDeleteNever heard of this stuff... But I dig this record. Thanks
ReplyDeleteThat was excellent. More like that, and White Ring in particular, would be much appreciated!
ReplyDeletegreat call, man. a fantastic split and a real high point of that whole scene
ReplyDeleteWaterboarders is where it's at. Everyone else in the scene is a triangle necklace wearing douchebag.
ReplyDeleteTaking the blueprint Burial left is a good thing, since dubstep ignored it anyway. Running it into the ground with shitloads of sub-par material and a meaningless obsession with occult imagery is not a good thing at all. That doesn't change that this is an essential release, though White Ring's The Black Earth That Made Me is probably more important, since it continues the same level of quality with another four tracks on top of these two! I hope they put out more soon.
