One of the greatest perks of doing Cosmic Hearse is the scores of amazing bloggers I have met as a result. Doug Allison, who runs the consistently awesome Scummified blog is one such individual. The guy is a paragon of good taste as evidenced by his blog's content, but Doug kicked it up a notch when he sat down to create some weirdo Black Metal that seems almost tailor-made for the eccentric tastes of the Hearse, dude even gave the project a Lovecraftian name and some primitive artwork as well, thorough. Thanks, Doug.

Yog Sothoth is the gate. I'm psyched to hear this.
It's awesome to see Doug mentioned on here. I know him personally and indeed, he does have great taste. Everyone should check out his blog.

Doug sent me a copy of this tape - literal one-man black metal in the playing-everything at once-sense! Madness! Nice to see him getting some recognition for this crazy abomination.

If I'm not mistaken, yog-sothoth is a song by the band Poison, from Germany early 80's. Radness.
Indeed, but there's many, many songs and bands named in tribute to the Opener of the Way. Many, many.

there are no less than 59 songs with "Yog Sothoth" in the title.
Thergothon has a demo with Yog-Sothoth in title.
There's also the late '80s Quebecois band Yog Sothots.
aesop - metal archives rejected my submissions for this on the grounds that there is "no actual physical release"...although if you and abdul alhazred have it then it must actually exist, right?
They've rejected one of my old bands on the same basis, even though I submitted photos of the damn tape and multiple covers. There's something to be said for being too underground for the Encyclopedia Metallum.
I never thought there'd be people who'd actively push their own band(s) in the Metal Archives. Leave that stuff for third parties, guys.
I helped Doug record the first Yog Sothoth album. It was a very passionate, primal, brutal every thing i loved in music. I remember i would kinda drag ass on it but once i would get into recording him i would get chills and be convinced that this was the best black metal ever.
This new album is grittier and in my opinion better although i wish it had been recorded with better stuff and more instruments doug pukeface balances brutality and minimalism in a fantastic way on this tape release.
I was very honored to recieve one of the first copies.
