The Day of Wrath

How is it that you love Bathory's first album so much, but you seem wholly indifferent to Bulldozer's debut The Day of Wrath? Is it because they're Italian? Is it because you haven't been bombarded with pictures of people in Bulldozer shirts? Is it because bands seldom cover their songs? Is it because "AC Wild" is not as mysteriously cool a moniker as "Quorthon?" Is it because their logo is pink? I just don't fucking get you, man.

  1. i remember seeing this album at Janis Music in Tracy- which for a music instruments store in a podunk ass town like that in the mid 80s had some kickass tapes and vinyl of rad underground Meta- and not buying it becaue i thought the mercyful fate and whatever other bands were gonna be better. i was dumb. this rules, dirty as fuck Venon worship, much better than Metal Massacre 2 on tape or Attacker that my dumb ass bought instead....but i did tell my friend that Keel looked gay as shit and to buy the Destruction "Sentence Of Death" album instead

  3. At first look it's nice to see that someone else had the same fashion sense that I did when I was 6 years old. This records rules! Never heard of it before. This is why this is my favorite blog to visit on a daily basis. Personally I've grown very tired of the scummy, very smelly Bathory shirt wearing heshers. Someone must kill the mother brain that controls the crusties!!! Is this the best bulldozer record?

  4. Wow I'm glad to say this album lives up to the incredible cover ( Is he being busted by a priest taking a satanic shit in a church?). Sounds like Venom was a pretty big influence which is more than ok with me. I wonder if the Japanese band Cut Throat got their name from this album?? Cheers Aesop!

  10. Found this one a while back and it quickly became a favorite. Have to admit the logo kind of worried me at first... I mean, it looks all metally and what not, but it's pink. Bulldozer seems like a wholly appropriate name for this band though.

  12. AC Wild sounds cooler and IS cooler than Quorthon. I'll bet Bulldozer knew how to party. Tracy, California also can party. I'm glad there aren't a thousand trendy fucks in every city wearing Bulldozer shirts. This is for true scumbags only.

  15. Really like the blog. i've been playin the back, and enjoying from the shadows for a while, but its a cool take on things from someone who lived/grew up in the middle of one of my favorite scenes. I actually first became aware of the FL scene from bands like Nasty Savage, Death, and Savatage (all of whom i heard right around the same time). Not long after that came Hellwitch, Massacre, Morbid Angel.. my knowledge of the hardcore scene there was admittedly always a bit spotty - i was aware of Belching Penguins pretty early, and of course No Fraud, but never totally loved that kinda stuff as much as the metal, i must admit. and i did like the Amazing Grace record!! Anywho, just wanted to say i enjoy the reading - keep up the good work.

as for Bulldozer, I've actually listened to Day of Wrath a few times recently. its a record that never really stays with me as far as being one of my FAVE records, but it never fails to be catchy as hell and just right. my favorite is probably "Fallen Angel" - its just a rush, so raw yet still so fuckin catchy. the first three tunes (not counting the intro) are so incredible here. there are a lot of times i don't make it through the record because those 3 tunes are just so perfect and the rest, while good, just isn't quite up to the quality of the first three for me. Still an amazing record that def deserves more attention than it gets today. Actually listened to the first Deathrage album a few nights ago, which was also (i think) produced by AC Wild.

  16. to Brad. It's Casual has been posted on this site and I find their stuff in the used bins cheap.

Now for this fucking record: I just called my buddy that I grew up with and bought records together and kindly told him I was going to donkey punch him in the nuts for not turning me onto this back in the day. I mean, I kinda have a Venom problem to begin with,I still own my Black Metal tee from 84! and that SOB was holding this out on me! and to think I traded him a white vinyl version of Trouble's first.

  17. if you don't love this record, you lose.
the verification for this was fucking TREAT, and that's exactly what this album is, when you are up at 8AM making pancakes and wearing a belly shirt and a fucking studded bird beak

  18. This record is fucking sick but I like "IX" better... it's a lot different but I think Bulldozer really found their own sound on that one. Oh yeah and these guys had the best lyrics ever!
