Shores

This band kind of trod the same path as Cosmic Hearse alumni Ashbury, Crowhaven, and Monarch. However, unlike those bands Shores of Evening were kinda lame. Yeah that cover suggests some ass-kicking biker metal band but this record is laughably bad. Even the promise of song titles like "Fist In The Air" and "Wreck This House Down" is totally watered down by pedestrian pub rock. You can almost hear the dulcet buzz of a Lowenbrau neon sign as the band slunks through another flaccid jam. Listen once and delete.

    Frankly I'm glad to see other people post records that aren't necessarily that good. Sometimes records suck in interesting ways, and I'm totally down with that.

    The shittiness of the cover art is impressive - it's even worse than the art on 95% of all white power album covers. Dude can't even do calligraphy right.

    The tiny skulls at the bottom are quite nice. I hope for their next album they can afford to put some colour to the sky. Good post.

    This is certainly interesting. Blog culture seems to have a fascination with things that are just plain bad...not that that fascination is bad by default; on the contrary, I find it supremely satisfying that things that are transparent be recognized as such, and celebrated for that reason. Why do you think pop music is so popular?
