Carnage's 1989 demo The Day Man Lost tape is one of my favorite pre-'90 Swedish Death Metal demos. Fuzzy, crusty proto-krush that comes off way cooler than Dark Recollections, their only "real" album. The bass breakdown in "Aftermath" is just beautifully fucked up. The Day Man Lost is so crippling and just over four minutes. Listen to it over and over again.
Barstard ! Not Long Enough ! your right I have already listened 3 times in a row !
ReplyDeleteYou never forget your first Carnage.
ReplyDeleteSweet, I never knew this existed and dig the shit out of Recollections.... Thanx
ReplyDeleteDrippy hand lettering, mushroom cloud, and crooked cut-and-paste all crammed onto one tape cover - this must be good.
ReplyDeleteBrings back fond memories of when death metal was king. Before the Norsk black metal it was the Swedes and their death metal. Is it a drum machine?
ReplyDeleteThis demo is absolutely crushing, I'm addicted
ReplyDeleteawesome demo
ReplyDeleteAlesis HR-16! Man, I wish this had been the music on Dark Recollections, I'd still have it.
ReplyDeleteDeath metal as it should be- short, sweet and brutal.
ReplyDeleteThanks again, Aesop
