Creepy Penis

Okay, if I am to understand correctly, John Thomas is some sort of outmoded Brit slang for a dick. With that out of the way, let me introduce you to the gritty bikerdelic sounds of Creepy John Thomas and their 1969 self-titled album. If you can't get behind a band that has a song called "Trippin' Like a Dog and Rocking Like a Bitch" then I can't help you, my friend. These motherfuckers were wild.

  6. I'm British (though I live in San Antonio, TX) and I've never referred to my genitalia by the name "John Thomas". Maybe it's from before my
    time...

Are these guys British? And yes, that's an awesome song title.

  7. Where are these guys from? I mean, I'm British (though I live in Texas) and I've never referred to my genitalia by this name. Maybe it's from before my time.

  8. Yes, John Thomas is a sort of old fashioned "polite" term for the penis. I couldn't say when the term was popular but I imagine it's heyday might have been the 50s. It's used today only in an ironic / comedic manner.

  16. John Thomas is John Thomas, nothing else intended. He came from Australia, where he recorded in the 60s with The Flies. Then moved to London, but soon after settled down in Germany, where he recorded the pretty good psych album "Come With Me" with his band RUST (UK &US members) He then formed CREEPY JOHN THOMAS with German musicians Andy Marx & Helmut Pohle (who were not amused, when this LP came out with wrong musicians-credits and a bunch of uninvolved hipsters on the cover)This first LP was released in UK too, but sank like a lead elephant. Next was the album "Brother Bat Bone" 1970, a German only release on Telefuken, and one that's pretty weird as well. He was still around in Germany in the early 80s and recorded as Johnny & The Drivers. Somewhere in between he was a member of the last incarnation of The Edgar Broughton Band.Hope this helps.Yours, the Lolly Pope

  17. I'm fairly certain that the slang connotation of the term "John Thomas" is from the D.H. Lawrence novel "Lady Chatterly's Lover." The title refers to the groundskeeper who would fuck Lady Chatterly, the wife of the rich landowner he worked for, while saying things like "oh yes now love that pleases Sir John Thomas now." It's been about 10 years since I read it so I could be wrong.
