Oxiplegatz

Oxiplegatz was the work of Alf Svensson upon his defection from At The Gates in 1993. Alf set out to make avant-futurist black/death metal concept albums chronicling the struggles of alien races and pan-galactic warriors. In 1994 Alf self-released the first Oxiplegatz album, Fairytales, a quality hour of oddball metal, visionary and exciting from stem to stern.

I'm looking forward to hearing this because from what I understand, Alf was responsible for writing most of the weirder, "backwards" riffs that are all over the first two ATG records, which are my favorites. His solo shit has always been one of those things I could never remember to seek out. Likely cause of that fucking strange name... Anyway, thanks.

Speaking strictly Cosmic Hearse terms:

Crystal Logic meets Benighted Leams meets Ocrilim

You've really established a cannon all your own 'sop.

Thanks for this one!

I remember this band from my tape trading/AOL message board days. I also remember not finding them easy to listen to...time for another go

I was just discussing this band with Dan and Vince from Anhedonist. Definitely need to re-visit this band.
