Here's some piss poor custom van rock from Anytown USA. 1983's As Your Kingdom Falls draws inspiration from such FM greats as The Outlaws and Kansas but, unlike the highly awesome Ashbury, fails to truly rock or create an atmosphere of castles and wizards. This will most likely make you say, "I remember a time when Cosmic Hearse was the best blog on the planet and now the guy just lazily posts records he doesn't even like. I'm heading over to Metal Inquisition to read another hilarious screed on how ugly Dan Lilker is."

For a minute I thought this post was going to be about the fantastic French funeral doom metal band Monarch.
Nope, but they are great.
That Solomon Kane cover art is pretty fukken rad, however.
sweet jesus, this is so goddamn corny. How can an album with such an awesome cover be so soft?
Monarck was a bit ahead of its time recorded in a basement type studio, a lot could have been done with the music that wasn't. The RUSH inspired group was actually better live then recorded, I know, I sang lead for them. It was a kewl 10 years. We were an outdoor band and loved it that way sadly we went on to top 40 rock to make some more money in the clubs with a band called Phaze II we were very popular in the Atlanta area in the late 80's while everyone was doing that dico crap we were still rocking it out in the night clubs. Original hometown Newnan, Georgia. We had changed up on lead guitarist David Luckie with a guy who was very clever Mike. Hey, That's all we new to call the dude, lol ! He was good with that Strat though. It Was a sad day when we stopped all together just stopped, man. Wasn't kewl at all dude. Thanks for having that album out here, I thought it was pretty damn kewl, just to see it. I can get my hands on only about 10 today but thats the way it goes I guess. Thanks for a place to post !
