Herbie Hancock's classic 1973 album Headhunters is just so infunktious and beautifully executed I can't imagine anyone not loving it. Headhunters is like a hot day off in your favorite city with no obligations, so the possibilities are endless. Go have some ice cream, smoke some rat weed out of an apple in your favorite park, throw a frisbee to a dog, finally break the ice with that cute guy or girl you been thinking about. Life is good, but it is short, get crackin'.

The Sextant and Thrust LP's are just as good.
I'm not a big jazz guy either. But that has got to be one of the best album covers featured on The Hearse. So I'll give it a shot.
One of the best fusion albums. If you like this one try the two right before it (Crossings and Mwandishi). Just as funky but weirder, more psychedelic. After this one Herbie got more and more mainstream, more like R&B than fusion. But alas, that's pretty much what happened to all of fusion after 1975.

Dude I totally picked up the 7" with Chameleon and Watermelon Man on it last weekend. So goooood.
Romantic Warrior is me fave fusion. You can't go wrong with Stanley Clarke, Al Dimeola, Lenny White and Chick Corea. These early to mid 70s Herbie albums are pretty good though.
Whoops I meant Return To Forever, Romantic Warrior is the title of an album. Lysdexics of the world untie.
check out herbie in miles davis bands from the 60s. even better if tony williams is the drummer.
