Les Heavy Heads

Back to France. Hearse friend, Solana Diaz wanted to share this awesome comp of '70s Franco hard rock and proto-metal, called Tetes Lourdes. It's all pretty fucking neanderthal and fantastic, but standouts include Lover's Love, Little Sammy Gaha, and Tac Poum Systeme. Très haut, très lourd. Merci, Solana.

I love it so much more than every little think and simple records.
A ne pas confondre avec les grosses têtes de Claude Chabrol of course.

Hey,
I had some difficulty trying to unrar it...winrar says the file is corrupt, and the default windows unzip won't unpack, because it says it's trying to protect my computer. maybe the file is corrupted?

They actually refer to the music as "proto-metal" on the album cover? Wouldn't that insinuate that the French knew that heavy metal was going to be a distinct style of music before the fact?

It's a reissue so I don't think there was any foresight at work.

Happy BIRTHDAY (I think?)!!! This is well timed, since they've found our earliest ancestor Ardipithecus ramidus. This hominid rends and destroys the idea of the missing link. God, I wish I could have those thumby toes. Alert Cretaceous; the tectonic plates are rumbling and asteroids are pummeling!
