Mysteries

Formed in 1992, Mysteries were one of Poland's first Black Metal bands. They only released three extremely rare demos but it was enough to launch what would become one of the most potent scenes in Eastern Europe. The first of these demos was the brilliantly titled In The Dark and Sodomy, and like so many of these early Black Metal artifacts, the sound is reminiscent of Hellhammer, Beherit, and punk, also reminds me quite a bit of Hearse favorites, Verivala. This is precisely the sort of Black Metal the world is lacking today. No beauty, no introspection, no tremolo picking, no forest romanticism, just hate and shitty gear, what more do you need really?

This is the epitome of your blog. A shitty black metal demo, good to listen to once or twice. Once in the morning on my computer and again on my I-pod after work on the bus.

I should definitely check this out, considering how much I love HELLHAMMER and BEHERIT. Have been listening to "Drawing Down the Moon" and "Engram" a lot lately. Thanks a lot for sharing this.

Personally, I enjoy their '93 rehearsal a bit more. Still this is good stuff.

Hey man, are you sure you uploaded the right thing here? I say that for two reasons, one because the track lengths here are completely different from the ones at metal-archives. And two because the music doesn't fit your description at all. Very early Burzum worship like a lost Wigrid demo, no sign of Beherit or Hellhammer. I ask because I really like this demo and wanna review it but I wanna make sure I'm writing about the right thing first!
