Suddenly...

That cover art alone should have you foaming at the ear to hear Sudden Death's sole album, the 1971 release Suddenly... Little is known about the band and the internet hasn't yielded much more information. I do know that if you dig amped-up fuzzy hammond-driven cult rock then you'd do wise to check this out. Wish I could tell you more, perhaps someone out there has a weird burn-out uncle or guitar teacher that played in this band and can find out more.

Reminds me of "Black Widow : Come to the Sabbat" for some weird reason. Maybe the skullz...

This settles it! Cosmic Hearse is hands-down my favorite music blog. Great impossibly rare stuff, great helpful comments. Other music bloggers could learn a thing or 1000 from this one.

As for Sudden Death- this stuff ranks right up there with Bent Wind, which all diggers of obscure psych should seek out

Ouch! This singer makes whatsisname from orig. Uriah Heep sound positively TUNEFUL. Crazy stuff. Best Hammond-driven fuzz witnessed lately: Frumpy "Take Care of Illusion" and Lucifer's Friend "Ride the Sky" both live from Krautrock and Beyond DVD set. BTW, what is the name of your band? Can't find that bit of info but am curious...

No password required.

Can't find a myspace for it. Tried myspace.com/nopasswordrequired
myspace.com/nopasswordrequiredrocks
myspace.com/nopasswordrequiredmusic
myspace.com/nopasswordrequiredofficial
I'm stumped. Doesn't every band have a myspace?

Aesop said...

I'm confused. You don't need a password to dl this. It is unlikely that a band that became defunct almost 40 years ago would have a myspace.

Alright, bad attempt at cleverness. But really, I would like to know what the name of your band is since people keep mentioning it. I'm really digging this blog by the way. And anyone who understands the genius of early Riot is tops in my book. Thanks.

Alright SKV, thanks for the kind words. I play in the bands Ludicra and Agalloch. Agalloch recently did a 10 date jaunt through Europe, that's what people are referring to.

Yes, all have heard Suden Death, as I said. But do you think Suden Death has a Myspace page? It will be evident that Suden Deaht have a Myspace page. Going to and listen to some songs there. Bebopalulaland, eh? Yes it feels so very clearly pleasant, this. Perhaps a little too much for me. But it's still kind of music everyone wants to listen to when it's festival. It does not matter really if you like them or not. "Sudenly...", I think sounds like a good song title, so I take and listen to it too. An observer-ballad! Lovely. Yes, I do not know what to say more. The older generation likes it here. And other people like it here at the festival, I know.

Comes out in 1971 right.

Roxys 1st is 1972

I am so sceptical of the 'brilliance'? of roxy and others like them.

And the 2nd track fugit orchard is so close in its melody, chord structure and dynamics particularly early in the track to Ladytron roxy must have nicked it Bastards!

P'raps its just me

Silly old bugger what do I know.

Filed it with flower travelin band

Mark says its alright

Outfuckinstandin !

There's nothing like a big bludgeoning riff played on a loud fuzz guitar to shake off a few cobwebs. Bring it on.
