Blood of Our Forefathers

Gontyna Kry is perhaps one of my all time favorite lo-fi Black Metal bands. The bands origin date as far back as 1993 in Poland, but now the band has been reduced to its core member, Warterz, who now resides in the UK. If you have been reading, you are aware of the band's sketchy nationalist agenda, but this site isn't about politics, good versus evil, morality, race, or religion. This site is about bringing you strange, important, interesting, and unsung music. So with that said, here is Gontyna Kry's 2001 epic Krew Naszych Ojcow. The beauty of Gontyna Kry's releases are they always different from each other, readers expecting the dreamy distant shimmer of Welowie might be surprised by Krew Naszych Ojcow. The material here ranges from keyboard-heavy Black Metal to odd spoken word ambient pieces. Not as lo-fi and fucked up as their other work, Krew Naszych Ojcow has a more traditional approach. Fantastic.

i've been out of black metal for a while. It's weird that u post very conflicting music on your blogspot. but i guess checking out the music objectively as possible (ignoring the ideology and lyrical themes) is pretty cool. I still think it's important to be conscious of it. i guess thats why you mentioned it ie. "sketchy nationalist agenda".

Yes, nuk. This site is about music, not politics. But as a courtesy to people who are sensitive to such things I make mention when bands apparently have an agenda that may be offensive or unsavory. This way people can make choices. My own political views and values tend to be left leaning but that is irrelevant to the point of this site. Objectivity is key. Thanks for getting it.

word, i appreciate your reminders Aesop. It's helpful to as you point out, have the ability to make choices that will affect how we approach certain aspects of music in general. i think it's good not to get locked into one type of political/social agenda when it comes to listening, but i also value the ability to choose what i want to put into my ears.

the metal archives page lists a drummer for the time period of this recording, but i'll be damned if that drummer is real. the songs twoj znak to... is a good example. have you heard the newer gontyna kry with members of kataxu? shit is rad.

Definitely some drum machines on this album. The new stuff doesn't really do it for me.

what's wrong with being a nationalist. stop being a wimp and trying to appear to be mr nice guy. its kind of yellow to tell you the truth. but im glad you put it up which is not yellow and actually shows a littlebit of back bone.10/10

Maybe I am nice. Maybe nationalism is weak and the result of lazy thinking. "Oceania has always been at war with Eurasia." Always a treat when an anonymous person on the internet calls me a wimp.

Dear Anonymous calling Aesop a wimp,

Go educate yourself as to what nationalism has meant and why it has no connection to either courage or a commitment to where you live. And go fuck off. In any particular order.

Also thanks for a great site.

As if someone uses the name here, you'll know where is his house and you'll go there and kill him...
Anonymous are stupid and people that call anonymous stupids are even worse.
