The Wizard of Nerath

Nergal is one of the earlier purveyors of Hellenic Black Metal that doesn't get the recognition of your Rotting Christs and Varathrons, perhaps because those bands were better. But I like Nergal, and their first album The Wizard of Nerath. It is so Greek Black Metal By Numbers it's hard not to.

Thanks, Aesop. I always love all of the Greek bands you've posted here. Much appreciated, sir. :)

I like it. That record label had a similar style for all their bands album covers did they not?

The sad part about this album is the stolen art on the cover. I initially made this painting for Kataklysm before Nuclear Blast preferred another design. I printed postcard of the artwork, that ended up in the hands of that greek record label who scanned it and use it for that Nergal CD cover. Tried to sort things up with the label but they never wanted to hear a thing and maintained they bought the art from me. Morons...
