The Tears that Wet Gethsemane

Hey everyone, I am taking a few days off for no other reason that I am way behind in some other projects. Also I want to address the recent influx of requests to re-up dead links since the great file sharing holocaust. I am still on the fence about what to do about it. I certainly can't re up everything. I was thinking of having every Saturday's post be a re-up of something lost, starting with some of the first posts. I understand it is a drag to read a paragraph that entices you so, only to find the link dead. I also want to thank all the people who subscribe, comment and contribute. Oh, and seriously, I appreciate and try to take the time to listen to all the stuff people send me, but it gets overwhelming at times and I sometimes miss stuff. I don't want to discourage people from sending things my way but I also want it clear that sending me something does not guarantee it will be posted. Also, if you DO send something you are implying that you do want it posted, if you do not, please say so. All contributions sent by publicists or with a generic form email will be rejected and ridiculed. Thank you.

Sounds like a good idea man! There are a number of things that are gone that I'd intended to download and never got around to. As usual, thanks for the dedication and great music.

Just want to put in my two cents that I'm stoked for all you do, Aesop. Even though I only listen to one in ten things you post I'd say that's a damn fine batting average. Keep it up.

Thank you for being you, god dammit!

Don't bother re-upping everything unless people really got to have it.

Life is a crap shoot - there is no promise that those links won't be fucked with again.

I would put a disclaimer on everything stating that there are no guarantees and for the best chance you have is to get stuff as it comes up, so subscribe or check in every day.

I like the idea about a Saturday re post, starting with stuff from the beginning days of the blog - What year was that? 75, or 76?

My two cents worth (may only be good for a one cent, at best).

Appreciate your efforts and supreme thoughtfulness you put into cosmic hearse, Aesop. Look forward to the new posts as well as the re-posts. I'm sending money to Craig McG so he can buy you a beer from me next time you see him.

Yeah man resurrect those dead. There would be enough there to keep us fed and you free for awhile. Much gratitude for your efforts in making your deep-sea catches available for us all.

Dude, you post an insane amount of shit already and even old posts with dead links give you something to put on your listening radar.
FYI, I probably check my email as often as this blog (which is a lot).

Since you are re-formating your style can I ask or propose you posting more weird hard rock? The stuff you have posted in the past is fucking fantastic. Oh yeah and I second @TMM, those ZZ Top files are crucial. Thanks for all the insightful and humorous posts.

re-ups of things you especially like would be awesome. like an "Aesop's picks" of things you've already picked worthy of posting in the first place.

and if the format/frequency of the Hearse changes, i'll follow it wherever it goes, whatever that means.

love it all.

So my friend just told me "Hey remember Hickey?" and I was like "Yea of course" and he said "well the Aesop dude has a pretty good blog with Black Metal and shit you might like" and I never put 2 and 2 together until now. It's a small world. Here I have been browsing this blog for ever and didn't even notice. I seen you guys a couple times once with FYP, I believe, and another time with Falling Sickness or maybe Backside or Link 80...I dunno, one of those Hopeless/Fearless 90's Punk bands I obsess over and spend too much money collecting. Anyway I just though that was weird.

Whatever decision you make, this certainly has been reliably one of the most consistently interesting music blogs out there. Thanks for all the work.

I am getting a little tired of seeing that weeping dweeb every time I get my hopes up and visit the Hearse. Get on with it man! Your writing and the music that comes with it is just to good to be put on hold like this.

This little internet page has pumped more life into my musical universe than any record store I've ever frequented. Thanks Aesop. Even if you never return, you've more than made a difference with the silly hobby which is yours and mine.

Aesop, I'm all for your idea of re-upping on a weekly basis. I'm not a sharity blogger, but an active one-man black metal and funeral doom project, and I was affected by the nonsense surrounding SOPA. You've turned me on to so many bands like Ash Pool and Bone Awl, which allowed me to connect the dots between Burzum and Black Flag, Bad Brains and Burmese, and I'm the better for it. Thanks!
