Die Kreuzen "Pink Flag"

I certainly hope you don't need me to tell you about how Die Kreuzen was one of the greatest hardcore bands ever, and how my pre-pubescent ballsack dropped upon hearing the Cows and Beer ep waaay back in '83, and so on and so forth. It should suffice to just give you this fairly rare 7" that has them doing a cover of Wire's "Pink Flag" and a cover of The Germ's "Land of Treason."

my ignorant ass thought that wisconsin was the only place lucky enough to have ever heard of these guys

this ep along with the self titled lp were enough to make me laugh at the rest of the world and hold this band close to my heart

great post, great band, another unapreciated artest that didnt get their dues till they wer gone

as for the 'alternative' lps 'centurs days' and 'cement'
i tolerated them, and figured they were 'maturing', and that music actualy helped me open my brain up to more styles of music besides punk and thrash metal

earwax wisconsin, my old friend Rob Cleavland's label has re-issued the first 7" 'cows and beer'
ep
but you probably knew that

In my book Die Kreuzen never made a bad record. Their last few, with the high pitched Def Leppard-esque vocals and "alterna-metal" guitar work are fantastic records. Happy to see them get some respect because, if anything, they were certainly original and sounded like no one else.

I love die kreuzen. My fave is October File - from the cover art to the music. I never got much into Cement, but the video of Big Bad Days was great. I hope i find it on the net (not the crappy youtube version tho). Another great Wisconsin outfit was Appliances. Their SFB album was just awesome.
