Deep Red

Profondo Rosso was Argento's return to the giallo after a brief hiatus from the genre. Many believe it is his best film. It also marks Argento's first collaboration with Goblin. It is definitely Goblin's finest moment. Their tense and turgid death funk adds an inscrutable dimension to some of the most twisted and stylish murder scenes ever shot.

Saw this and downloaded it the other day. 70s Italian prog rock geniuses Goblin do amazingly.

thank you for posting some goblin! as much as i love old metal and punk rock, Goblin has to be one of my favorite bands ever. this album is a masterpiece...but their dawn of the dead score is also fantastic, as is the scores for tenebre and contamination, if yr into some fuckier stuff. check out their pre-goblin stuff as cherry red (if you haven't already)for some total Yes worship.

aesop, yr blog is the best out there, very eclectic and awesome. thanks for doing it.

Copycat! No, I kid, of course. But, I did post Goblin's "Phenomena" soundtrack yesterday. I've got a ton of them, if you're missing anything, and you'd like me to share, let me know.

Rygar, fuck didn't see that. I gotta get that one. The soundtrack to Opera sucks.

Already have this one, but thanks for the post. Everybody who's a fan of '70's prog goodness should hear this. Maybe Argento's best film, and definitely a fucking excellent soundtrack. Hell, everybody should track down the movie just to have context for the soundtrack!

I really appreciate this - Deep Red has one of the greatest soundtracks ever, thank you.

Goblin + Argento = Orgasm times Infinity

This is deeply appreciated. Goblin's score to the film somehow transformed it into a far more unnerving experience. Also one of Argento's best by far.
