Brainstorm

What an amazing thing this 7" from 1995 is. Brainstorm were a little known Death Metal band from The Ukraine. What sets Brainstorm apart from the gazillions of other bands at the time was an artful knowledge and appreciation for non-metal things like krautrock and psychedelia. These three songs were recorded live at a festival where I am certain people were completely confused by the band. My mere words could never do this justice, I'll shut up now. Just get this.

According to Encyclopaedia Metallum that was all they recorded (an earlier demo apart) - seems a shame, I would love to hear what they would do with a full album release!

Sounds really good, a full album would've been awesome. Or maybe it's enough with this, sometimes less really is more.

I'm kicking myself for not checking this out back when it was posted on Lizards & Beans.

No need to kick yourself.

great blog, just found it a few days ago. Although this Ukrainian band has created one-of-a-kind avantgarde metal, after third listening it began to remind me something I heard some 15 years ago. It's the swiss group Sadness and their first album "Ames de marbre". I've been looking for it, but seems that it's really rare. Any chance seeing it uploaded here in the future?

This is a really good EP! I had this 7" sitting on my shelf unlistened for waaay too long.

Some original work here. Quite "Urfaustic" cover artwork. Oh, and maybe not the proper place to post a request, but if You could somehow dig up this quite weird/interesting demo by Osculum Infame member, "Tzaphkial - Anahata Chakra, Kundalini, Luciferi... ".
