Copy Cats

The polyrhythms and hypnotic drones of various standard office copy machines explored and manipulated for your enjoyment and fair-use sampling needs. This was made by the brilliant Plunderphonics folks, hence the name "Xerophonics."

Wow, this is a weird one - I used to have a comp that was all stuff like this. Tea kettles, creaky doors, funky washing machines. A good antidote/companion to songs of the humpbacks.

Aesop, are you interested in trading links with my new Lovecraftian music blog (http://fromthisswamp.blogspot.com)?
Thanks as always.

There are quite a few albums out there like this. Not strictly about copy machines, but utilizing equipment that is similar to a copy machine and making minimal electronics with it. the Symphonies for Dot Matrix Printers done by [The User] are probably the best, so far. Vol 1 of their stuff is here: http://misteriosoimpossivel.blogspot.com/2008/06/user-synphony-1-for-dot-matrix-printers.html
and Vol 2 is here: http://artificiallyinduceddubsyndrome.blogspot.com/2009/08/user-is-canadian-based-artists.html
