Evolution

Any album with Lee Morgan, Bobby Hutcherson, Anthony Williams, and Jackie McLean is bound to be amazing, but then put these fertile talents under the direction of one of avant-Jazz's greatest composers, Grachan MoncurIII and this shit is through the roof tasty.

Great album! I only just discovered this one a couple of years ago. I also like "Some Other Stuff" with Wayne Shorter, Herbie Hancock, Cecil McBee and Tony Williams.

Absolutely fantastic. I'm lovin' all the jazz that the Hearse is posting. Maybe any recommendations on Yusef Lateef's work? I've heard great things, but I am not exactly sure where to start.

Great album. Never heard of Moncur until now. Checked out his "Some Other Stuff" with Shorter and Hancock. Mesmeric improvising. Thanks for this!

You had me at Lee Morgan, Tony Williams, and fucked-up, pixelated album cover. cheers!

BTW @ Jordan: Yusef's "The Doctor Is In... And Out" and "Hakima" are two totally different & awesome places to start on his catalog. Getcha' dome blown!

Super-duper thanks. I tried playing trombone when was 11 or 12-ish... Gave up after a year of course, and whenever i hear Moncur III playing I get pissed at myself....
