Les Legions Noire Part Seven:Dvnaèbkre

Dvnaèbkre was another twisted entity from the mind of Vordb Dreagvor Uezeerb, the industrious Les Legions Noire figure who also was a member of Black Murder, Brenoritvrezorkre, Dzlvarv, Susvourtre, Torgeist, Vzaeurvbtre, Zelda, Moëvöt, Chambre Noir, and Belketre. The only release from Dvnaèbkre was this limited tape called Dvnaèbkre Zuérkl Mogovtre. It was released in 1995, and is no less fucked or brilliant than any other LLN artifact. You all have been going nuts for this stuff. I'd say "enjoy," but that seems very inappropriate when it comes to LLN matters. You get my drift, Vzurzvorkle.

Well, my favorite USBM bands are Angkor Vat/Lascowiec, Veil, Bone Awl, Leviathan, Xasthur, Wolves In The Throne Room, Ahulabrum, Fauna, Ashdautas, Crebain, Nightbringer, Inquistion, Blutvergiftung, Jabladav, and Rites.

i find so much of this one-man-bedroom-black-metal-noise stuff to be very hit or miss but this one is definitely enjoyable, even though it sounds nothing like anything that i could ever describe...is that a fucking chicken on that first track??
kudos to this awesome blog! (i'd post more comments but sometimes i can't think of anything to say...sorry).

much obliged Aesop - this is such a gem. it's as fucked sounding as the soundtrack to 'Begotten'!!

i thought you were about to drop ludicra in that list just to see if anyone noticed

Aesop said...

No, I'm modest and I barely regard Ludicra as Black metal

that's what is so great about this LLN shit, it is indescribably weird.

I could never figure out any of this LLN stuff, I can't focus on anything but the sub-Janet Jackson mike-through-a-walkman-in-the-adjacent-room production and funny names. Though I can appreciate the funny names, some of them are pretty rad. I always wanted Belketre to be an excellent band considering the fantastic name.

What did hit me straight in the face is the visual aspect of it, these frog fuckers concocted some incredible xerox machine artwork. No fucking kidding whatsoever, while most metal bands of the eighties and early-to-mid nineties seemed to be occupied by making a cover and then xeroxing it, LLN types give the impression that if you tripled their artwork budget (as if they had any) they'd just go and buy two more garbage heap xerox machines. I love it. This Dvnaèbkre cover is the most incredible one I've seen yet, absolutely fucking stunning.

Svein, I couldn't agree more. LLN's high/low art design sense is amazing. Really it's the whole package, the art the weird names the strange sounds, the logos. So insular and deep. Something else that occured to me is the lack of "where are they now" type info. It's as if the handful of LLN members left black metal behind and never spoke or bragged of their involvement. Only 2 or 3 current bands can be traced back to this unusual cabal. That just adds so much authenticity to the whole trip.

I could see, if the stuff was made availabel, a high brow gallery showing of all things LLN, that would rule.

Just found your blog today. You have an amazing selection of music. I headed straight for the LLN stuff. I only had the Vlad Tepes and Belketre spilt. Thanks for providing more!

Thanks for posting all this gruesome LLN stuff - listening to it makes me nauseous in a good way.

terrorific stuff, pun intended. i have most of this lln shit (mostly downloaded, as original copies are almost non-existant or cost as much as a house). this one always eluded me until it showed up here. have to say that this is now one of my faves of all the lln i've heard so far, especially that first track, it's the aural equivelant of a david lynch movie, and i could listen to it forever. think i'll have to make it into a continuous loop!
